Prices & budget
How much does a trip to Indonesia cost? A transparent price overview — from the trip fee to on-site spending money.
What a trip with Simply Horas costs
The price depends on the length and complexity of the itinerary. As a guide: 14 days northern Sumatra from 40,000 CZK per person, 21 days trans Sumatra from 69,000 CZK per person.
Included in price
Guide and organizational services, car with driver, motorbikes with riders, national park and volcano entry fees, rafting, boat transport, accommodation for the entire stay, 24/7 support.
Not included
Flights (international and domestic), travel insurance, vaccinations, meals outside the program, personal expenses, tips for guides.
On-site costs
Indonesia is a very affordable destination. Food at local warungs (small eateries) costs 30–60 CZK for a full meal. In tourist restaurants, expect 90–180 CZK. An approximate daily food budget is 200–350 CZK. A Bintang beer costs 60–90 CZK.
Money & payments
The most reliable option is to bring cash in EUR or USD and exchange it at a trusted money changer after arrival. For additional cash during the trip, we recommend MANDIRI or BNI ATMs (max 2–3 withdrawals per day). VISA cards work in larger towns, MasterCard availability is limited. Pulau Banyak islands have no ATMs — get cash in advance.
Inform your bank about your trip to Indonesia — they may block your card on the first withdrawal.
How we handle it
The trip price includes everything except flights and personal expenses. No hidden surcharges. After the initial conversation, you’ll receive an exact calculation with a breakdown — you know exactly what you’re paying for.
Spending money & tips
For personal expenses, we recommend approximately 250 USD per person (more if you drink alcohol). Tipping in Indonesia is not mandatory or expected, but always appreciated. As a guide: 50–100 EUR/USD per guide at the end of the stay. The amount is entirely individual — it depends on your satisfaction.
